COVID-19 Coronavirus Update Zero Bail Set For Most Misdemeanors And Felonies In California.

Covid-19 Crisis

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Judicial Council of California adopted a statewide Emergency Bail Schedule. The new order sets bail at $0 for most misdemeanor and lower-level felony offenses.

Originally, the adopted bail schedule would be effective as of April 10, 2020, at 5:00 pm. In an update this afternoon, courts were given until April 13, 2020, to implement the new zero bail schedule.
